THE fcf does more than just christmas

The M-Bar-C Ranch is located on Whidbey Island just outside of Freeland. Situated on 60 acres of rolling pastureland, the facilities provide both ranch activities and a peaceful refuge for deserving children and their families.  We have wonderful support from the local residents on Whidbey Island, who represent the majority of volunteers.

This property was purchased in the mid 1970’s by a group of Seattle area families for the purpose of allowing their children to experience recreation opportunities outside the city.  The ranch served them well until mid 1980's when the kids grew up and their interests changed.  The owners of the ranch, some of whom were the founders of The Forgotten Children’s Fund, realized that the ranch could serve deserving children beyond the FCF Christmas program.  We initially served diverse groups such as Ryther Child Center, Children's Orthopedic Hospital, and the Northwest Burn Center.  We currently serve 2,500 children per year from a variety of challenged backgrounds.
